As for the theme songs, the OP will be "Billy's Target" by Fuji Shuusuke while the ED will be "Yume no Tsuzuki" by Yukimura Seiichi.

Rajipuri Aug 2006 Ep 176

The hosts for Aug's Rajipuri will be Minagawa Junko and Ueda Yoji who play Echizen Ryoma and Tanishi Kei respectively. Doesn't it feel strange for them to be paired up even though they had played against each other in the OVA?

The guest for Ep 176 is Kusuda Toshiyuki who plays Shishido Ryo.

As for the theme songs of August, the OP will be COSMOS by Tanishi Kei while the ED is Michishirube by Chinen Hiroshi.

Rajipuri July 2006 Ep 171

The hosts for July's Rajipuri will be Kiyasu Kohei and Tsuda Eiyuu who play Kaidou Kaoru and Yagyuu Hiroshi respectively. For the 171st episode, Kawamoto Naru who plays Kawamura Takashi will be their guest. As for the Rajipuri themes, the OP will be Flower-Sakuranka- sung by IKUO instead of GIGS and the ED is Kaze ni Nokkatte by Kondou Kaoru. ZERO on Oricon's Album Chart & Rajipuri #151

Shishido's first solo album, ZERO achieved a placing of No.47 on the Oricon Album Top 100 Chart as of 20 Feb 06. As compared to Progress by Echizen Ryoma which debuted at No.55 of the same chart, Shishido's album seems to have done better in terms of placing. Maybe we have to look at the sales figures to determine who has done better. Anyway, it probably won't be a fair comparison since Progress is a mini album with 4 tracks while Shishido's ZERO is a full-length album.

The guest for episode 151 of Rajipuri will be Hasu Takehiro who plays Itsuki Marehiko of Rokkaku.

Rajipuri Feb 06 personalities and theme songs

Feb's Rajipuri introduces a rare combination of Taka-san and Davide who can be considered as two funny characters in Tenipuri. Of course, Taka-san only behaves like this when he's in burning mode while Davide is constantly entertaining us with his lame jokes. Kawamoto Naru who plays Taka-san and Takeuchi Kosuke who plays Davide will join forces in Feb and the first week's guest is Shimozaki Hiroshi who plays Ikeda, a 2nd year sophomore in Seigaku. As for the theme songs, they are both from Shishido because he has a new album to be released on the 8th. The OD is 4 SEASONS while the ED is Break Chance.

Updates - Rajipuri Jan 06 and Echizen's mini album

From the Interchannel website, the second week guest for Rajipuri Jan 06 is Takahashi Hiroki who plays Kikumaru Eiji. It should be fun since his role has frequent contact with the characters Oishi and Shishido played by the TK hosts Kondo Takayuki and Kusuda Toshiyuki. I can't get the latest Rajipuri episodes to listen to so I can only imagine.

Another announcement is that Echizen's mini album, "Progress" got No. 55 in the Oricon album chart dated 2 Jan. It seems that the results were based on sales for 1st and 2nd Jan only. Thus, this title can be considered to be the first Oricon Top 100 entry in 2006 for Tenipuri CDs so I hope that more will join its ranks.

Actually on New Year's Day, I did check the website and found that there was a lucky draw where fans could send postcards to request for the New Year cards from their favourite seiyuus and the singers of the various OPs and EDs. From the message, this was an annual event. However, since they restricted it to people residing in Japan and the closing date was 4 Jan, there was no way that I could try my luck. It would be good if I can get one from Sanada, Tezuka or Atobe but it's just too bad that I don't fit the eligibility criteria in the first place. What a pity!

Rajipuri Dec personalities and theme songs

As announced on NEC Interchannel, the monthly personalities for Dec are Minagawa Junko (Echizen Ryoma) and Kusunoki Taiten (Sanada Genichirou)! Wow, Sanada and Echizen...this is quite an interesting combination. And to sweeten the deal further, the first guest in Dec is Okiayu Ryotaro (Tezuka Kunimitsu)! I've really got to find this episode somewhere since it's rare that these three characters can come together again. I remember that in Aug last year, Kusunoki-san and Okiayu-san were the monthly personalities and Minagawa was the guest so this time round, the formation is changed.

As for the opening theme of this month, it's Echizen's song, "Kaze ni Notte katte" which should be from the birthday cum Christmas mini album. The ending theme is "BRAND NEW DAY" by 3 Guava Trio i.e. Aoi Kentarou, Marui Bunta and Akutagawa Jiro.

Does this mean that the theme songs for next month are likely to be from the Meganes and Seigaku Ichinen Trio? I can't wait to receive the Meganes single next month...Oh, before that, there's the much-awaited fan disc to be released before Christmas! ^__^

Rajipuri # 1 - 3 Apr 03

Decided to start writing reviews on the Rajipuri series so I'll start with the debut O.A. on 3 Apr 03 where the monthly personalities were Minagawa Junko (Echizen Ryoma) and Suwabe Junichi (Atobe Keigo) but Suwabe-san wasn't present.

According to the seiyuus, they took part in various sports clubs during their junior high school days. Minagawa and Toriumi were in the volleyball team but Toriumi left within one semester. Okiayu was in the basketball team but he left too in the first semester. Kaida was in the badminton team while Suzuki is the only one who has played tennis. According to him, he used to be playing doubles and usually took up the position of the rear guard as he always got hit by the ball when he was in the front. ^__^

Well, according to Minagawa, she answered some of the questions in haste so didn't understand them properly at all e.g. the second question when she thought it was referring to popularity among guys and girls.

Seishun Gakuen Kounai Housou (Seigaku School Radio Programme)
Host: Echizen Ryoma / Guests: Kamio Akira and Sengoku Kiyosumi
Well, this is a short skit where the characters talk in the setting of a lunchtime radio programme in Seigaku. The ending song for this segment is PERFECT GAME by Kamio Akira.

Tenipuri Senryuu: A segment where they have short phrases about the various Tenipuri characters and they are mostly humourous in nature. Since this was the debut OA, the listeners had not written in yet so the staff came up with a few. The one which caught my eye most would be the one about wanting to see Tezuka-bucchou slip and fall. ^__^ Ending song for this segment is Trial of Luck by Sengoku Kiyosumi.

Finally, we have the shiritori game between Tezuka and Fuji where the latter won. This is going to appear regularly in the future episodes and Fuji won a number of times if my memory did not fail me.

Rajipuri CD Releases

Received the CDs on Wed but one of them (Atobe & Tezuka's CD) is badly cracked. I have contacted HMV Japan on this but they have yet to revert to me on this matter. The longer this drags, the more worried I become because the Rajipuri series are selling fast. What if they cannot replace the same item for me? That's why I am prepared to hold on to the defective case in the event that they cannot find a replacement for me because I'm not going to return the CD to them for nothing. I just hope that they can revert to me soon or else the possibility of getting a new item would be close to zero.

The Sanada and Tezuka CD cover was a surprise for me since the NEC Interchannel website did not display it. Well, I'm happy to see them appearing on the same picture but their postures and the way the hands are drawn i.e. them holding a MP3 player seem kind of weird. Anyway, there are a number of pictures of them in the CD sleeve and hearing their voices is a huge attraction for me so I'm prepared to forgive the not-so-impressive cover image. Actually, the two CDs do not include the entire programmes of the months they were main personalities for but rather, selected segments were included and songs were omitted. Nevertheless, the CD sleeve does include a full breakdown of the segments and item they did for each episode and mentioned the taglines they said.

Vol 44's cover is still not displayed on Bandai Visual's website to date but it will be in another 21 days when I receive it. No matter what, I still hope to see the cover before the release date to confirm my guess that the cover is a Rikkai one. Gen-chan's second single will also be released this month so this is going to be a Rikkai month for me.

Rajipuri CD covers

NEC Interchannel has finally uploaded the covers of the Rajipuri CD releases at the end of this month but 6 of them including the most anticipated one for me, Tezuka & Sanada are not up yet. Anyway, I've put up covers of 3 out of the 4 CDs I ordered here and I'm getting tempted by some of the rest whereby the covers seem so nice. One of them is the Echizen & Atobe version (Apr 2003) but I must control myself or I may end up buying too much and of course spending too much on this series. Since this is a limited release, I must make my decision soon whether to click that purchase button again. ^__^

Actually, the basis of how I make my decision on which to buy lies primarily with the characters who are the personalities for that month and according to my memory of how interesting that month's Rajipuri is. Well, most of them are quite interesting but Onosaka-san gets too loud or too lethargic at times so I'm sparing myself from those which include him. I'm not sure how they are editing 4 or 5 episodes of Rajipuri into one single CD since each episode is about 20 minutes plus but I hope that they can include some freebies or nice pictures of the personalities. An interview of the seiyuus concerned may also be interesting.

The offer I see on the Interchannel website is to send in two official coupons from any 2 CDs in this series. Well, I can come up with the coupons but I doubt that there would be any chance of me winning the special CD containing Seigaku's school song apparently sung by the Seigaku seiyuus. I might as well keep the coupons as memorabilia since I don't think foreign buyers can get such freebies. Now, my next question is, when will the CD cover of Tezuka & Sanada be shown? I'm really looking forward to seeing them on the same picture.

Talking about Rajipuri, this month's personalities are Kaida Yuki (Fuji Shusuke) and Nagai Sachiko (Yukimura Seiichi). It's the bishonen combi but there's no way I can get hold of this to listen to...Opening song for this month is Tachibana An's single, Natsu no Ojousan which got No 79 on Oricon and ending theme is Sengoku Kiyosumi's Everyday due to be released next week but Interchannel has not uploaded its picture yet.
