Under the "Doubles no Oujisama" game releases, this version allows the player to play the elder brother of two siblings who are good at tennis. The setting of this boy is a Year 3 student from Ourin Junior High. He is voiced by Naitou Rei. The aim of the game is to form a boys doubles pair with the characters and win the tournament.

In the boys version, the following characters are featured i.e. you can form a pair with this character:

1) Echizen Ryoma
2) Atobe Keigo
3) Tachibana Kippei
4) Saeki Kojiro
5) Sanada Genichirou
6) Oishi Shuuichirou

Actually, by looking at their profiles, they do not have many similarities despite being born on the same day and of the same age. Other than the fact that they are famous for playing doubles and has a regular partner i.e. Ootori and Amane Hikaru to pair up with and both naming red as their favourite colours, they are rather different in terms of temperament and character.

Rajipuri Feb 06 personalities and theme songs

Feb's Rajipuri introduces a rare combination of Taka-san and Davide who can be considered as two funny characters in Tenipuri. Of course, Taka-san only behaves like this when he's in burning mode while Davide is constantly entertaining us with his lame jokes. Kawamoto Naru who plays Taka-san and Takeuchi Kosuke who plays Davide will join forces in Feb and the first week's guest is Shimozaki Hiroshi who plays Ikeda, a 2nd year sophomore in Seigaku. As for the theme songs, they are both from Shishido because he has a new album to be released on the 8th. The OD is 4 SEASONS while the ED is Break Chance.

Covers for 3 Guava Trio & Seigaku Trio CDs

Finally managed to get a glimpse of the other 2 New Year CDs which I did not buy. Wow, the 3 Guava Trio cover is so nice and it's obvious that they are wearing the hakata in tune with the New Year Day release date. It seems like there is no talk segment for them thus the CD is cheaper than the Meganes' single. As such, there's only one track i.e. Brand New Day and the karaoke version. No wonder the price was so different from the rest when I first saw details of this CD. Anyway, it is rare to see Jirou with his eyes wide open since he's usually in the sleeping mode unless he's playing in a match and he looks quite good on the cover. Marui is so cute as he munches on snacks like usual. I have to say that I find Aoi quite out-of-place when he stands beside these two guys. Maybe Gakuto might be a better choice to form 3 Guava Trio since they share common characteristics in height, play style and the cutesy appearance.

With regards to the Seigaku Trio, I really do not think the sales of this title would do well based on the popularity of these 3 guys especially Horio. As such, this seems to explain why there is a need for so many guests in this CD i.e. Echizen Ryoma, Tezuka Kunimitsu, Inui Sadaharu, Atobe Keigo, Ibu Shinji, Kuki Kiichi, Karupin and even Principal Ishikawa from Seigaku. A reason why this costs more than the other 2 releases is due to it having 3 versions of the title track and a bonus recording "Tennis no Oujisama Off The Radio" which should involve the guests named above. Well, I don't see myself buying this CD just to listen to the bonus track though so it's highly likely that I'll buy this single. The cover picture looks kind of plain too so I really wonder if this is a last-minute production from Interchannel.

Otanjoubi Omedetou, Aoi Kentarou!

Today's the birthday of Rokkaku's 1st year bucchou, Aoi Kentarou! Well, the reason why he was made the captain really made me laugh when I first saw it in the anime. Trust Oji to do such a thing! And Saeki was made the vice captain just because he was asking Oji about who he wanted to choose. Anyway, Aoi-kun is quite a promising lad though so he deserves the title of the captain even though Saeki clearly enjoys a higher profile than he does. I'm just not used to his loud voice and over-enthusiasm at times so his passionate side is something which I can't handle very well. Then again, if he isn't an enthusiastic guy, this would not be the Aoi we know anyway.

To me, I feel that Aoi is the exact opposite of Echizen thus the latter is awkward as to how he should repond to Aoi's behaviour. Echizen does not show his real feelings on the surface while Aoi is always smiling and wears his emotions on his sleeve. Echizen puts on a cool face but Aoi seems to be like fire where his passion can rub onto you and get you heated up at the same time. Maybe that's why the anime arranged for the two of them to play a match together during the Kantou semi-finals instead of the arrangement in the manga so as to show the contrast. On the other hand, Aoi's stubbornness in trying to get Echizen hyped up over the match is similar to the latter's refusal to admit defeat even when the odds are stacked against him. Even though Echizen said that he doesn't want to play with Aoi again, I guess he must have enjoyed their match very much since it satisfied his desire to go all out for victory.

Otanjoubi Omedetou, Davide!

Today is the birthday of Amane Hikaru aka Davide, the dajare-king! Well, some of his jokes are really silly but you can't help laughing at times. I mean, laugh at Davide himself instead of the joke. ^__^ Although he constantly gets whacked by Bane-san for the dajare, if you look at it from another perspective, he can be said to be very observant. At least he would need to pay attention to the words said and things around him in order to come with the dajare in an instant. That could be why he seems to have a sharp instinct despite his joker appearance.

I've only seen Davide play 2 double matches before i.e. at the Rokkaku arc against the power duo, Momo and Taka-san and the other at the Senbatsu camp where he teamed up with Oshitari against Ibu and Shinjou. Davide is said to be the hyakunin-kiri of Hyotei and I think his fast reflexes made him live up to his reputation. Besides, his ability to manipulate the long wooden racquet says a lot about how he has to adjust his playing style to bring out the best from the racquet. That is why I think he's a thinker although most people would not feel that way. Anyway, his combination with Oshitari left a deep impression on me and they really feel like a manzai duo to me. Imagine talking like that during the match and managing to win it! Those two are really something. Last but not least, it's a pity that Davide is not featured in the new calendar. I guess that's because Rokkaku did not appear much both in the anime and manga this year. It will be difficult to see him again since Rokkaku lost in the first round of the Nationals.

Otanjoubi Omedetou, Kisarazu Kyoudai!

It's the birthdays of the Kisarazu Kyoudai - Ryo and Atsushi! They are the only twin brothers combination in Tenipuri with the other group being the Fuji brothers. As such, we know that Ryo and Atsushi look exactly the same and that resulted in Mizuki getting the wrong guy to join St Rudolph. In order to distinguish them, Ryo being the elder brother wears a cap and has long hair while Atsushi has short hair and wears a headband. I wonder what Mizuki was thinking of when he got Atsushi to wear that red headband. Doesn't that get into the way when playing tennis? Well, Atsushi has more airtime as compared to his brother where we saw him during the St Ruldoph arc doubles 2 match with Yanagisawa against Momo and Kaidou. That match was stopped halfway because Momo knocked Yanagisawa out. Other than that, there were snippets of his other matches at times. As for Ryo, he didn't get a chance to appear during the Rokkaku arc so it was only until the Senbatsu arc when he had a short match with Atsushi. Thus, it's hard to guess who is actually superior among them. Although there is a sense of rivalry between them, they seem to be closer than the Fuji brothers who were initially not on speaking terms due to Yuuta's inferior complex. At least, they don't feel the extreme need to outdo each other. Now that Rokkaku has been knocked out in the Nationals and St Rudolph is not in the competition, I doubt the twins will appear again in the manga.
