Otanjoubi Omedetou, Kawamoto Naru-san!

Today is the 32nd birthday of Kawamoto Naru-san who plays Kawamura Takashi in Tenipuri! To be frank, I remembered his name quite easily when I started watching Tenipuri because his surname sounds quite similar to his character. And when I saw his face for the first time, it left a pretty deep impression on me since he has that unexplainable power to amuse me just as how I feel whenever Taka-san goes into burning mode. ^__^

Kawamoto-san was born in Tottori Prefecture's Tottori City and graduated from Chiba's Hachiyo Higashi Senior High School. His blood group is O, shoe size is 26.5cm and according to his official website, his height is 168cm and he weighs 58 kg. His hobbies include playing musical instruments, collecting antique clothing, shopping, watching pro-wrestling matches and basketball. Kawamoto-san counts writing songs, playing the guitar, dancing and playing games as his talents. In April 1991, Kawamoto-san entered Hagimoto Kinichi's theatre group as the pioneer batch and formed a comedian duo "Asarido" with Horiguchi Fumihiro in Jan 1994. Subsequently, in Oct that year, they became the 9th generation Youth Team for the long-running variety programme, "Waratte Iitomo" until March 1997. Since then, he has also worked as a regular in the programme, "Ousama no Brunch", seiyuu in animes and acted in stage plays and musicals. Kawamoto-san has also taken part in the 27th Honolulu Marathon on 12 Dec 1999 with a record of 6 hours 22 minutes and 19 seconds.

As Taka-san, Kawamoto-san has released 3 CDs so far i.e. 2 singles and 1 full-length album namely, "Burning Heart", "Asobi ni Ikanai ka?" and "Greatest Over". He will be releasing his first solo single, "Sora no Mukou no Mukou" on 26 July 2006 (NECM-12132) as the second OP for the anime, "Wan Wan Celeb".

Rajipuri Feb 06 personalities and theme songs

Feb's Rajipuri introduces a rare combination of Taka-san and Davide who can be considered as two funny characters in Tenipuri. Of course, Taka-san only behaves like this when he's in burning mode while Davide is constantly entertaining us with his lame jokes. Kawamoto Naru who plays Taka-san and Takeuchi Kosuke who plays Davide will join forces in Feb and the first week's guest is Shimozaki Hiroshi who plays Ikeda, a 2nd year sophomore in Seigaku. As for the theme songs, they are both from Shishido because he has a new album to be released on the 8th. The OD is 4 SEASONS while the ED is Break Chance.

Otanjoubi Omedetou, Taka-san!

Today's the birthday of Taka-san, Mr. Burning of Seigaku! Normally, Taka-san looks very gentle and kind but whenever he holds his racket, he will become a different person. He has a special preference to say English expressions with "Burning" being his catchphrase. And when he plays tennis, he can get really aggressive which suits his play style, aggressive baseliner. Being a person with 2 entirely different personalities, Taka-san provides much comical relief especially when he goes into burning mode. In addition, he's also someone who thinks a lot about his teammates and is prepared to go to extremes for Seigaku's victory. Just look at how he was prepared to sacrifice his arm when he was playing Kabaji during the Kantou tournament. There are a number of times when Taka-san was on reserve e.g. the Rikkai arc and he usually plays doubles with Fuji. Singles-wise, I think the Kabaji match was one of the few when he played alone. The only exception for the doubles match was his pairing with Momo during the Rokkaku arc when they played Davide and Bane-san. His friendship with Akutsu is also something worth noting as one is so gentle while the other is so aggressive yet they can become good pals. Taka-san is someone who can get along with everyone and I don't even remember him flaring up at anyone. It must be fun to have a senior like him around but I certainly do not want to antagonise him while he's in burning mode. ^__^

Taka-san's album cover

Here's the cover of Taka-san's album due to be released next Wednesday as shown on NEC Interchannel. As for the premiums in the first press limited edition, there's an additional CD of descriptions for the songs in the album by Kawamoto Naru, the seiyuu of Taka-san. There's also a postcard used for the lucky draw of a secret event to commemorate the release of this album. Up till today, I have still not decided whether to get this so it might probably be ages before I can make up my mind. I might even buy this months later just like what I did for the Tezuka album when I've heard some of the songs inside the album. It's not really because I have no confidence in Taka-san's vocals but buying an album is not like buying a single especially when the price is concerned. I do like Taka-san but not as much as my top favourites so I'm taking more time to deliberate on this matter.

Taka-san's first album, "Greatest Over"

The track list of the album as announced on NEC Interchannel:

1) Korette
2) Nagisa no Invitation (with Fuji Shuusuke)
3) Tokei wo Modoshite Mou Ichido
4) wow wow wow (with Momo)
5) GOOD LUCK BABY
6) Futari de Hitori Sake (with Taka-san's father i.e. Kiuchi Hidenobu aka Oshitari)
7) DREAMING
8) Shiashin (lyrics written by Minagawa Junko)
9) Itsumo
10) Sotsugyo
11) Suteki na Sushi Time
12) Ano Bassho Made
13) Tanoshiku Ikou yo

Apparently, track 13 involves the producer, the scriptwriter and director of the anime while there may be other guests for the rest of the songs. I don't have the cover picture of this album which is due to be released next week. If I do find it, I'll update it on this blog.
