Otanjoubi Omedetou, Shishido & Bane-chan!

It's rare to have two Tenipuri characters celebrating their birthdays on the same day and Shishido and Kurobane aka Bane-chan happen to be the two. Well, let me start off with Shishido first. Frankly speaking, I think Shishido looks better after he cut his hair in front of Sakaki, Ootori and Atobe to prove his determination to win after losing to Tachibana. After seeing his wonderful teamwork with Ootori in the Kantou first round against Inui and Kaidou, he struck me as a very determined person who is not afraid of hard work. Shishido and Ootori work well together because Shishido is tough and hardworking while Ootori is kind, gentle and talented. Besides, they have gone through a lot together so the trust they have in each other is very strong. Although Shishido may appear cold and practical most of the time, his friends understand how he is really like so I guess that's why Ootori can get along well with him. This also provides more material for the yaoi fans who loves to put them together. ^__^ He seems really shy when it comes to attention from the opposite sex like how he blushed in the movie during the matchmaking game when he found that the girls all chose him. Well, that machine blew up in the end thus signifying that the result wasn't accurate but Shishido's reaction was so interesting especially when Sengoku teased him that the result was due to the machine's fault. Hyotei is still in the Nationals though but I wonder if Shishido and Ootori will continue to play in the doubles since the lineup for the recent Nationals clash with Seigaku seem to be rather jumbled.

Bane-chan is also part of another famous combination with Davide where he always bashes the latter for spouting senseless jokes. He's similar to Shishido in a sense in terms of their serious nature. The only difference between the two friends would be Bane-chan has to practically "babysit" Davide and stop him from joking too much while in Shishido's case, Ootori seems to be the one who has to restrain him from going to extremes. As Bane-chan has only appeared in one match during the anime, I don't have a deep impression of his playing skills but since their doubles match with Taka-san and Momo during the Kantou semi-finals focused on a power match, Bane-chan gave me the idea that his shots are full of energy and the playing style seems very aggressive. It's a pity that Rokkaku has lost in the manga so I won't be seeing Bane-chan there.
