Under the "Doubles no Oujisama" game releases, this version allows the player to play the elder brother of two siblings who are good at tennis. The setting of this boy is a Year 3 student from Ourin Junior High. He is voiced by Naitou Rei. The aim of the game is to form a boys doubles pair with the characters and win the tournament.

In the boys version, the following characters are featured i.e. you can form a pair with this character:

1) Echizen Ryoma
2) Atobe Keigo
3) Tachibana Kippei
4) Saeki Kojiro
5) Sanada Genichirou
6) Oishi Shuuichirou
7) Fuji Shuusuke

Otanjoubi Omedetou, Mizuki Hajime!

Today's the birthday of Mizuki Hajime, the data-man in St. Rudolph! Whenever Mizuki appears, especially if Fuji is around, you can be sure of comical relief as the latter would always ignore Mizuki as if he is like the air even though Mizuki keeps calling himself the biggest rival of Fuji. No matter how many times he gets slighted, Mizuki simply refuses to give up and keeps making a fool of himself. And when that happens, it's usually Yuuta taking the brunt of Mizuki's frustration and the poor guy can't do anything about it. ^__^

The only time when Mizuki got the most attention from Fuji would be their match during the Tokyo semi-finals and he had assumed that Fuji would be a walkover opponent. Never did he expect that his treatment of Yuuta brought out the "vengeful" streak in Fuji and he has the dubious honour of being one of the few "enemies" of this Mr. Nice Guy. At least Fuji didn't treat Kirihara like an eyesore after their match but he completely ignored Mizuki as if he's a complete stranger. To someone who's proud of his existence, that can be said to be the biggest insult.

To be frank, my first impression of Mizuki wasn't good at all. I thought he was some scheming freak who kept talking about data and everything going according to his scenario. In one word, I would use "irritating" to describe him. He failed to realise that data will only be of use if you know how to utilize it to your advantage. As demonstrated by Inui, having the knowledge amounts to nothing when you don't have the techniques to turn the tide of the match. Well, the humbling experience he had with Fuji should have made him realise the problem with his approach towards tennis so in a way, it had beneficial effects on him. At least, I don't feel put off when he appears. However, Mizuki still has a long way to go before I can use the word "humble" to describe him though.

Otanjoubi Omedetou, Fuji Yuuta!

Today's the birthday of Otouto-kun i.e. Fuji Yuuta from St. Ruldoph! Being the younger brother of the tensai Fuji Shuusuke, Yuuta has been subjected to comparisons with his elder brother and doesn't feel good about being referred to as his younger brother. It makes him feel as if people do not see him as an individual and only remember him for being Shuusuke's younger brother thus earning himself the nickname of Otouto-kun. Although relations were tense between Yuuta and Shuusuke at the beginning, they have resolved their differences after the St Ruldoph vs Seigaku matches although Yuuta tends to be quite shy and embarrassed by Shuusuke's overwhelming show of affection at times. ^__^ It's obvious that Yuuta does care for Shuusuke but he's not the type to express his feelings. Besides, Shuusuke seems to be quite fond of teasing Yuuta and enjoys watching the latter's reaction. By the way, the picture I've posted is from the Shueisha 2006 calendar for the week beginning on 19 Feb.

Given that St. Rudolph is already out of the tournament since the end of the Tokyo arc, I guess we'll see very little of Yuuta unless he turns up during the Seigaku matches to support Shuusuke. However, Yuuta will appear with Mizuki Hajime in the OVA DVD to be released next month as commentators of the National Arc. As I understand that the first match with Higa will only begin in Vol 2 where there are 2 episodes, I guess Mizuki and Yuuta will just talk about how the Nationals tournament is structured and introduce the teams taking part. We'll know the exact contents of their talk session when the OVA DVD Vol1 containing one episode goes on sale from 24 March.

Otanjoubi Omedetou, Kisarazu Kyoudai!

It's the birthdays of the Kisarazu Kyoudai - Ryo and Atsushi! They are the only twin brothers combination in Tenipuri with the other group being the Fuji brothers. As such, we know that Ryo and Atsushi look exactly the same and that resulted in Mizuki getting the wrong guy to join St Rudolph. In order to distinguish them, Ryo being the elder brother wears a cap and has long hair while Atsushi has short hair and wears a headband. I wonder what Mizuki was thinking of when he got Atsushi to wear that red headband. Doesn't that get into the way when playing tennis? Well, Atsushi has more airtime as compared to his brother where we saw him during the St Ruldoph arc doubles 2 match with Yanagisawa against Momo and Kaidou. That match was stopped halfway because Momo knocked Yanagisawa out. Other than that, there were snippets of his other matches at times. As for Ryo, he didn't get a chance to appear during the Rokkaku arc so it was only until the Senbatsu arc when he had a short match with Atsushi. Thus, it's hard to guess who is actually superior among them. Although there is a sense of rivalry between them, they seem to be closer than the Fuji brothers who were initially not on speaking terms due to Yuuta's inferior complex. At least, they don't feel the extreme need to outdo each other. Now that Rokkaku has been knocked out in the Nationals and St Rudolph is not in the competition, I doubt the twins will appear again in the manga.
