EXILE's new vocalist used to be part of Tenimyu's cast
EXILE's newly selected vocalist TAKAHIRO (real name Tazaki Takahiro) won the public audition on 22 Sep among 10,000 hopefuls. However, it is little known that Tazaki was actually not a freshie to showbiz as claimed even though his official occupation was listed as a freelancer.
In actual fact, Tazaki was part of the cast for Tenipuri's musical where he was due to play the role of Kaidou Kaoru for the "Tennis no Oujisama Advancement Match Rokkaku feat. Hyotei Gakuen" during 3rd to 27 Aug. Despite the fact that the production crew had been waiting for him to join in the rehearsals, it was announced on 25 July that Tazaki had quit from this musical with the reason cited as illness.
The surprising thing was that he then took part in the EXILE vocalist audition from 30 July which goes to show that he wasn't unwell to the extent of being unable to sing. As such, this is causing a stir because of the fact that Tazaki wasn't honest about his background and the unconvincing reason given for quitting from Tenimyu at the last minute.

Musical Dream Live 3rd CD
This is the cover of the Musical Dream Live 3rd CD containing the recording of the concerts held at Zepp Tokyo on 28th and 29th March this year. The CD, due to be released on 14 June, would have an original jacket sticker in the first press and the catalogue number is NECA-30165. There are a total of 21 tracks featuring the Seigaku and Hyotei teams thus explaining why characters from these schools are shown on the cover.Frankly speaking, I find this cover rather amusing because some of these characters e.g. Tezuka and Echizen look rather out-of-place when they hold microphones. I guess being a singer doesn't seem to be suitable for them. On the other hand, we have people like Atobe, Oshitari, Eiji and Fuji who look perfectly comfortable with a mic in their hands as if they can pass off as real performers. Last but not least, we also have people like Kabaji who doesn't say anything other than "Usu" or "katsu no wa Hyotei desu", appearing on the cover. So does anyone actually play Kabaji in the musicals? And does Kabaji have any lines in the first place? I for one, can't imagine Kabaji singing though ^__^ so it makes me quite bewildered to see his face here.

DVD and CD release of The Imperial Match Hyotei Gakuen 05 - 06
There will be a DVD and CD release for the Imperial Match Hyotei Gakuen musical which was staged at the end of last year. Please note that the items can only be purchased at the Animate stores in Japan so you won't be able to find them on websites like CD Japan, Amazon Japan or HMV Japan. I guess these are made exclusive to customers who patronise Animate so you may wish to check them out if you are in Japan or have a friend there to buy them on your behalf.First of all, the title of the DVD is "Musical [Tennis no Oujisama] The Imperial Match Hyotei Gakuen in winter 2005-2006" and the release date is 20 March. The catalog number is MJDB-70363 and the item produced by Marvellous Entertainment costs 9240 yen. There are two DVDs in the package where the first DVD is the actual musical which lasts for 150 minutes while the second DVD is the special footage lasting for 190 minutes. According to the description, the special disc will have things like backstage footage and how the stage was constructed. There will also be a special pamphlet which contains information on the cast and lyrics of the songs performed. The first press version of this title will contain a 2006 desktop calendar from Apr 06 to March 07 so once the limited stock runs out, the normal press will not come with this freebie.
As for the CD, the title is "On My Way" and this seems to be a single instead of a full album since the selling price is only 1000 yen. Most albums cost more than 2500 yen so I doubt this will be an album. The release date is on 22 March and the catalog number is NECM-10038. I don't have the tracklist so you may wish to check out the Animate website to see if there's any mention of the title. I believe that this song is performed by all the actors in the musical concerned since it's mentioned on the musical's website that the performing artiste(s) is "ALL CAST". In any case, even if you purchase this via Animate's website, you would need to reside in Japan since they do not ship overseas. By the way, there seems to be an Animate store in Taipei, Taiwan and you may go to their website to see if they carry these items too.

Musical Tennis no Oujisama Concert - Dream Live 3rd
The Musical Tenipuri Concert - Dream Live 3rd will be held at Zepp Tokyo on 28th and 29th March where there will be a total of 5 sessions. The tickets are sold at the price of 5300 yen each and they are available from 19 Feb onwards via Lawson Ticketing. For those interested in this musical/concert, you may refer to the following website for details like the cast line-up and production trivia. Frankly speaking, I'm not very keen on the Tenipuri musicals so even if I do get a chance to see them, I doubt I'll be interested anyway. The musicals seem to be quite popular in Japan though. I'm hopelessly devoted to the anime and the manga ^__^ thus any possibility of spoiling my wonderful image of the series will be avoided at all costs. And that explains why I am shunning the real-life movie like the plague. Nonetheless, I just hope it won't fare too badly at the box office even though I may not want to watch it.

The Imperial Match in Winter 2005 - 2006
There's a new Tenipuri musical featuring Hyotei this winter. Of course, the seiyuus will not be the cast for the musical. Instead, stage actors are selected to play the various roles. Given that past musicals have never been released on DVD, I have never seen the past productions. However, according to what I know, there are soundtracks of the musicals on CD format. Well, I don't have much interest in the musicals though but I like the flyer for this musical on the offical website so decided to share it here.
