Konomi Takeshi-sensei's solo CD debut!

The author of "Tennis no Oujisama", Konomi Takeshi will be making his solo CD debut on 19 August 09 as announced by himself during his guest appearance in the infotainment programme, "Sakiyomi Jan BANG!" on 29 May. His solo double A-side single is titled "Tenipuri tte Iina (Tenipuri is great) / Smile" and will be released on 19 Aug. To Konomi, this is a dream come true as he had aspired to be a musician if he did not become a manga author in the first place. Konomi started writing songs when he was a student and the 2 A-side songs in this 3-track CD are written by Konomi .

According to Konomi, the song "Tenipuri tte Iina" is based on his daily life and has the message of announcing his return through the launch of the sequel to the original Tennis no Oujisama series is back in Jump SQ this year. The original manga series ended its run in Mar 2008. During that month, Konomi also sung 3 songs in front of the 10,000-strong crowd during the "Tennis no Oujisama 100 Kyoku Marathon" in Pacifico Yokohama with the seiyuus of the anime. It was then he realized that he liked the feeling of singing and performing stage which led to the materialization of the CD debut.

In the debut CD, there will be a booklet included which is a SP of the "Shin Tennis no Oujisama" series. In addition, Konomi is scheduled to perform during the "Tenipuri Festa 2009" on 6 Sep at Ariake Colosseum where he will sing his new songs live for the first time.

So this is the surprise that TY Entertainment was talking about all this while! It's really unexpected. Even Konomi-sensei is releasing a CD. ^__^ I don't remember any manga author doing that before but do correct me if I'm wrong. Well, compared to the songs, I'm more interested in the freebie though. Now, I'm wondering if TY Entertainment will release a DVD of the Tenipuri Festa 2009? Give me more Tenipuri!!!
